Green Kit Distribution
To provide incentives to small and marginal farmers living in the vicinity of forest areas, seedlings of fruit-bearing tree species as well as timber species have been distributed free of cost to tribal communities. This initiative aims to improve their diet and provide health benefits while also meeting their future timber needs. The distribution is carried out in the form of "Green Kits”, each containing 17 varieties of plants in an ecofriendly jute kit bag. The seedlings are distributed in the villages by forest staff and Van Mitras and regular monitoring of saplings for their survival is ensured. A total of more than 5000 kits were distributed in the current monsoon season all throughout the territory of UT of DNH&DD.
