    Forest Wildlife

    The Department of Forest and Wildlife, DNH & DD plays a pivotal role in the preservation, management and sustainable utilization of our natural resources and the diverse array of flora and fauna. With a mandate that encompasses conservation efforts, wildlife protection, afforestation initiatives and biodiversity conservation, the Department carries out plantation activities, Soil and Moisture Conservation measures, Protection measures in Forests as well as Revenue areas to increase the Forest cover as Tree cover outside the Forest areas by involving local communities and other stakeholders. The Department conducts various awareness programmes by celebrating important days i.e. World Forestry Day, World Environment Day, Van Mahotsav, Wildlife Week etc.
